18th April, 2015 Kiss Me Kate!

New Forest pony, Moses arrived this morning and starts work next Monday...

...he has settled in very well with Jack and Nettles.

A return visit to Castillo in order to train Kate how to catch him so that she can deputise for Alan in emergencies or while he is away. So this was our version of Kiss Me Kate or The Taming of the Shrewd as Castillo is now known. He was very happy to be the subject of a love quadrangle with me, Tracey, Alan and Kate all vying for his attention. The main thing is that everyone needs to take the same approach.

Alan has been keeping a 'catching' diary so that we can spot any factors which trigger his wary behaviour. Looking through his notes I commented that he should probably look at the weather forecast as sometimes his reluctance or otherwise seemed to be weather related. "Definitely whether dependant – whether he wants to be caught or not!", he replied.

Back at the farm the barn is coming on very well thanks to Ian who even works weekends.

Jack and Nettles jumped at the chance of doing some work in exchange for clickered treats.

Out on the Forest Bluey is proving that he can do more than make promises, at least when it comes to the mechanics! Educating the tourists in the car park.

Don't look Ethel!
