13th April, 2013 An Incomplete Washout

With the Met Office promising that it wouldn't start raining over Steyning until 3 p.m. we began our clinic with a degree of optimism. The rain started at about 10.05 and then increased in intensity throughout the day.   Still, Jenny and I were able to cover a bit of clicker training, much to the delight of Tor, the Dartmoor Hill Pony, and then follow this up with long reining, short reining and a little lean over before his session was complete.

Mary even did a little ballet at the end of her section of short reining - or so it appears.

"Hope you've dried out and warmed up.  In case you didn't know, everybody enjoyed the day and want to do it again!!!" KS (Are they mad??)

"Did some short reining with one of my friends horses I've been working with yesterday and was great! I had been shown short reining before but have never managed to actually get the horses moving initially. This time I managed it 1st time! woohooo!;D

Huge thanks to Kate for organising another wonderful day- we're really grateful for all the trouble you go to! And of course a big thanks to Sarah and Jenny for being great teachers!:)" MC
