The EGUS Survey

The range of possible symptoms for gastric ulcers is enormous and makes me wonder just how many horses that are labelled as having behavioural problems are really suffering from them.

This list is provided by Dr Renee Tucker in the USA, in her report: Fix Your Horse's Ulcers Forever (click on the image to see a bigger version). This comprehensive report has some suggestions about prevention which could be considered controversial, however, there is so little veterinary help available to owners beyond immediate medical treatment for acute conditions.

Our survey looks at all aspects of ulcer symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. We will publish the results of the survey on a regular basis as more and more cases are added.
