Delighted to be working with Sardine again today and Sarah. He was very pleased to see us too and just lapped up everything that we showed him.
Preparation for headcollar...
Headcollar with clipless lead rein - clipless is best at this stage so that if he did get away it would just slip through rather than 'chasing' him around the pen.
Preparation for his first rug...
...not a bother.
More foot handling...learning to keep his feet down before learning to pick them up.
Advanced class - getting familiar with the tarpaulin...
...and accepting the plastic bags without a murmur.
Finishing with having his head on the 'normal' way.
Turned out, he had a good run around...
...shook his head about a bit...
...and then came back for more.
He was caught easily and did some leading in a straight line using the full length of the pound.
Another run around...
...and then back to check out the toys.
Meanwhile Posh Bird was back to our ending point from yesterday within ten minutes, accepting touch with the feather duster and a hand at the front of her body.
Next we wanted to introduce the scarf, so we rolled it around the feather duster...
...shortly after that she was wearing it around her neck where it could be used to teach her to follow a pressure. As a more nervy four year old everything had to be done far more slowly and consolidated. This seemed to be a very good point at which to end her session.
"Thank you for an utterly brilliant weekend." SB
