16th May, 2013 Rewa Project

With the second lot of books all ready to go out to Rewa in Guyana, it was wonderful to receive pictures of the children at the school with the last lot. Some of the books are purely for fun and others are definitely educational but all of them will be appreciated. With the summer holidays coming up, children will still have access to the books because one of my contacts, who goes by the cool name of Russian, is setting up a library for them.

The books go by plane from the UK to Lyon France, JFK New York and then Barbados or Trinidad to Georgetown, Guyana. Then they go on a small plane to Annai in the interior before travelling by little boat to Rewa itself. The books have been very kindly donated by my friends and their children and grandchildren so that I can concentrate on the money for postage. I have also received a very kind donation of a postal fee (£78 for 10 kgs of books!) from my accountant at GFM Accounting Ltd.

Just a few more to send!!! This little lot came from the lovely Jan Waller, her daughter Mandy and Granddaughter, Hannah.
