With the first full working week of the year and fog, it was inevitable that the carnage would begin again on the New Forest roads. The cows and ponies are drawn to the road in order to lick the salt off the surface. This pony had a broken foreleg and had to be shot by the agister. By the time the commuters were coming back across the Forest this evening the body had been taken away.
We took our three young ponies out for a walk on the roads this afternoon, all wearing hi-viz even though we were only going the back route to the pub. The ponies were fine with the light traffic, red cows and a boat. These girls get on so well with each other and are always great fun.We stopped off en route for a drink and left them in the corrals outside the pub.
