9th August, 2014 From the Ridiculous to the Sublime

Bryn's third session today and a sharp reminder that he has been a practising stallion! He is very happy to work with us in the school but the moment another horse turns up he forgets everything and is completely distracted. Deafened by high pitched neighing and vaguely impressed with his airs above the ground I had some work to do to grab his attention. A change of direction every time his attention went away and then we settled down to the preparation and assessment exercises for long reining. By the time the horse came back, he was so engrossed in his work he forgot to shout hi!

Making sure that he is fine about a line on the ground...
...and the concept of being driven.

Setting off with dual controls: note both lines, myself and Tracey are all on the same side to begin with
Off the lead rein and relaxed enough that I can chat to his owner.
"As usual we had a fab time as did Bryn. So lovely to see him developing." HR

It's been great to have Julie back on board for the last couple of weekends. She used to regularly ride the starters for me. Nettles has been occupied as a lead rein pony of late and today Julie reintroduced him to independence and the bit.
