3rd March, 2015 A Walk on the Wild Side

If you have been wondering where Indi has been recently, Charlie took her away just before Christmas to share some conservation grazing with some more New Forest youngsters in the hope that she might lose weight. He's not sure he has succeeded but was very pleased to tell me that she led the way with being caught, loading and travelling when all of them were moved from one site to another.

Tilly continues to be the filly that says, "I can" and today left her little Shetland mate to go for a good long walk around the Forest tackling everything she met with gusto if not alacrity. Over trees and under trees she proved to be all-terrain and seemed to be very confident.

Once in the inclosure she came off the lead reins for a bit of fun...

Under a glowering sky, it was time to practise our emergency and medicine skills, giving me an opportunity to work with Natasha on clickering horses.

Pretend clipping with the battery driven toothbrush which makes a noise like an insane insect. Then loading.

Mock injecting with a needle-less syringe and mock worming with a carrot.
