Working with three youngsters today. The first stop was Rose who is going out for 1 1/2 hour hacks with Sian on board and me riding Gill's safe hack, Fly. We go very steadily but this morning Sian had her first canter out and was positively beaming all the way home.
Later Jazz went out long reining in the inclosure again and was very very good and forward going. Isaac (above) had his first groundwork session and got it all straight away. He's responsive and curious and was happy to follow me over the see-saw and the bridge with no hesitation whatsoever. It struck me that we don't want out youngsters to be too attracted or distracted, just tractable is good.
