13th April, 2014 Tally's Teefs

Shortly after my arrival, Xanthe's Suffolk Punch, Tally Ho started to salivate rather alarmingly almost as if he had rabies and his breath was rotten. An urgent call to the vets required.

Before she arrived he was practising his crocodile smile.

The vet isn't very tall but you can see the size of Tally's head in comparison to her little body.

I was very impressed with her work. Not only did she find the cause of the problem - he'd got something caught under his tongue which had damaged his tongue and his lower jaw - but she tidied up all of his teeth too. She took a great deal of care, releasing the gag at very frequent intervals so that he could close his mouth, stroking him very gently, and stretching his neck out to make sure that he had a full range of movement in his head and jaw. She finished by putting a liberal coating of honey all over his tongue to help it to heal.

Penny the dog realised that I was the entertainment committee and kept me busy throwing a slobbery fragment of what had once been a decent ball.
