The Rough with the Smooth

You will recall that Stephanie Zebedee took some of my ponies over to the reserve a few months ago. At that time, she was in the middle of a very busy showing season which culminated in her taking three horses to the Horse of the Year Show including Swagger who came 9th in the same class as Alonzo who won Best Stallion for the third year running.  Now, Alonzo has gone home for a holiday and the other horses are all 'roughed off' for winter.

Swagger was wearing pyjamas and a tail bag but looked as gorgeous as ever with his Egyptian head and curious gaze.

Bernie who has a light season as a four-year-old, and covered his first mares, is sporting a mohican where his bridle path used to be and a rude expression. His temperament hasn't changed in the slightest and he is happy to be cuddled in his stable where he had been temporarily brought in. He's the one I would steal if I could.

Although Peaches is absolutely stunning with beguiling doe eyes. My neighbour, Cherie, was very pleased to give her a cuddle over the fence.

What with Boo the dog (and Sizzle), the tortoise, and wild buzzard we should have been all animalled out but we called in on Cherie's youngster, Otto, on the way back.

Otto is a great cross of Trakehner x New Forest x Arabian and should make a fabulous endurance horse. He's two at the moment.

I wasn't going to use this last photo but was almost dared. I have been asked to point out that she was scratching his bottom. This position is not recommended!
