1th May, 2014 A HEAVY weekend (Part II)

Today's mystery tour started with the Mouland Belgian Draft horses. We could only peer over the fence at them but I think we were spotted. Then it was off to Rockbourne again to see the second day of the Driving Trials. Most of the competitors were setting off on The Drive, approximately 5 kms in the case of the novices.

Due to a flat tyre we were too late to see the horses go through obstacles but we were all four repaid for any kindness that we have shown anyone over the last few weeks when the organiser said that he would re-harness his horses and take them through the water again just for us to see. Daughter Claire McDermott drove them and Dad, John was the Groom at the back.

Here they are negotiating the 'Ant Hill' just for us....

...and not only that they gave us a lift back up to the venue.

Next stop was Tarrant Rushtom Airfield to which Michelle and Simon have privileged access and they had kindly agreed to take us out with their Percherons, Star and Moon. I don't quite know what we had done to deserve it but what a fantastic treat.

Despite the clouds, we stayed completely dry and when we got back Simon invited Xanthe to drive the couple as a pair.

We all agreed that we have had a fabulous weekend.
