Green Grass

Just three weeks ago, many of the wild animals in Meru were thin and really struggling for food. With three weeks of good grazing, insect or fish-catching, or hunting, their ribs may be showing and their haunches a little bony, but their coats are beginning to shine and they have a jaunty air.

Although the rivers never ran dry, the grassland became parched.

When the rains came the park greened up almost overnight and soon there was plenty of food...

and an abundance of insects...

Everywhere looked so green.
