14th July, 2015 Tricky Manoeuvres

This is a nose that has now been stroked. Small but certain progress. Henry's taste in foodstuff has widened to include ginger biscuits, a delicacy I had been assured would appeal to her donkey side. She's not to be conned though. I managed to sneak one worming tablet into her bag of mixed treats but any attempt to do so afterwards resulted in her spitting it sideways out of her mouth. I left two more on top of the tub along with some barley rings all of which disappeared leaving just two untouched circles of...wormer.

Petra, who nearly fell flat on her face when septuagenerian Pat was riding her yesterday, shows that she is perfectly capable of standing on three legs.

Final call of the day was to help our landlord with his pet cow, Flower. She has recently lost the tag out of her ear and needed it to be replaced in order to be legal.

She's a big girl and capable of squashing people accidentally so she had to go into the crush in order to keep her as still as possible. Luckily there was already a hole where the new tag needed to go and so the procedure itself was painless...

...and afterwards she enjoyed a lovely rub.
