5th May, 2016 Birthright

Twizzle is already part of the gang and keen to join in with whatever is going on. This is the first time he has been out of his own field since he arrived with his owner over three years ago when he was a foal. She didn't expect him to make the winter. Instead he has become a very sturdy young horse but at times frightened of his own shadow. It's fair to say that after befriending him and making sure that his urgent needs could be met, she has worked under the radar with him not pushing his confidence at all. He has already surprised both of us.

Today was no different as he wandered over the low bridge with only a millisecond's hesitation...

...and then tackled the big bridge...

...putting his back feet on it after just three goes.

Taking him out of the field was going to be a different matter and I resolved to bring him back pretty quickly if he looked too troubled. In the 'air lock' he showed a little apprehension at the trailer and panels...

...but was fascinated by the world beyond. This is your birthright mate.

In the inclosure he was overwhelmed momentarily by all the sights and demanded to be taken home...

...before sampling the heather bales.

Then he was more than keen to go exploring...

...doing a fine crab impression when I held him up by asking him to go in circles around the concrete pad (where World War II planes were tethered).

A settling treat before setting sail around the inclosure...

So all this is mine, he seemed to ask...

Yep, pretty much.

"Only need to say one word today--WOW--oh and thank you. I think everyone should send their youngsters to you!" CH
