Once again David and I chose to spend our day off photographing heavy horses, this time in the beautiful rolling green countryside at Rockbourne where the British Heavy Horse Driving Trials Club were holding an event. This included dressage, obstacles, cones and a seven mile drive. Driving people are quite the nicest of horse people, competitive and yet encouraging to others, and very welcoming to guests. If you are hesitating on the edge of taking up driving events with your heavy horse I would say go for it. Their next event is on 25th and 26th June again at Tenantry Farm, Rockbourne, which on the first day is dedicated to novice drivers who can baggy themselves an experienced one to take round with them.
