9th May, 2015 Earning Our Keep

Petra Perkins, now semi-retired and due to have only half a set of shoes on on Monday, still earned her keep today by giving a very pleasant long-reining session. She's so amenable and genuine, if you steered her through the muck heap she would duly oblige. Liz is also set to go ploughing now with her half Ardennes pony!

"Thank you so much for this morning, i really enjoyed myself & learnt so much. I'm looking forward now to starting this all with Spirit" LE
Another practice loading session with Shay to finish the week and a good discussion about all the changes that could be made to make transit more comfortable including more space, a different tying up position or travelling loose, a lower partition at the back and some way of deflecting heat away from the roof.

I am going to be reviewing ten years of my notes of working with non-loaders to see if there are any trends such as older horses going on strike, particular layouts or makes of trailer/ horsebox.
