This explains why it is important that the hi-viz collars that the New Forest ponies wear are elasticated. It also explains why some of the ponies lose theirs.  This pony was having a lovely scratch on Roly's tractor!

Nelly and her friend, 'Exmoor', have been hanging out at Roly's this winter - his hay must be even better than mine. So far I have had no ponies turning up at my fields at all this year and Pie is right up at Deadman Hill following the trailer of the gorse cutter.
